You’re Such a Wonderful Surprise

I don't think you can do anymore
You're like the hook in my favorite song
I wanna sing you
You're in my heart, you're on my mind
You pick me up at the lowest times in my life
Everything happens for a reason and now I see why

                             Wonderful Surprises, Shawn Hlookoff

I’ve got a surprise for you!

Guess what it is?

If you guessed, my California video—which I doubt—then you are 100% correct! And I even got it saved, uploaded, and on my YouTube Channel. So do you wanna see it??

(Note: If the video isn’t working, just click the link right above it!)

I also managed to pack an entire suitcase (ironed and folded clothes) in one- yes- one hour! Thank you, thank you. I believe it’s because I’m such an excellent planner. Now for those of you that think one hour is, well, forever to pack, for me it’s a record. It usually takes me days to pack!

So now all I have left to do is load up my laptop tomorrow morning and I’m Outer Banks bound!

What do you say we leave for California?

If we drive all night we can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
What do you say we leave for California

California, Metro Station

It's almost time. For what you ask?

California, of course! (If you hadn’t already guessed by the title of this post or the lyrics provided by Metro Station!)

Like a crazed teen, I fell in love with Ryan Atwood during the OC’s four season run. I would have died to be any of the girls who were fortunate enough to cross paths with Mr. McKenzie’s character. (If you have a bad day, I highly suggest watching the first, second, and last season…the third-let’s not even talk about!)

I mean who can resist those baby blues??

0039gPMkzykgnnzqwiubTwaP13eo1_400And besides the brooding, wife-beater wearing, push-up loving boy, was the irresistible geek that I fell in love with.

Seth Cohen. While I could definitely do without the comic books and the dreaded pot in the afore-mentioned, fail of a third season, that smile, the laugh, the witty sarcasm. Every thing screamed “love me!” Including Captain Oates.

Adam Brody-88245 adam_brody_portrait-4723 adam-brody_full brody-3 But there was more to the OC then gorgeous boys…there was California. The beach. The views. The houses. The cars. The uh, boys. I was completely in love with attending UCLA: Berkeley right alongside Atwood to become an architect (even though I would have been the biggest fish outta water to ever hit the campus).

So for those four seasons I dreamt of leaving the East for the West as soon as I possibly could.

oc-pier OrangeCountyRegional1 After “The End’s Not Near, It’s Here” I quickly came to the realization that I would probably never ever live in the OC (but I would definitely visit!)

Now the time is here…Miss Hannah is headed to California in just a little bit over 24 hours and I can’t wait! Which part of California? The South, of course! I’ll definitely be stepping a foot into the OC at some point.

I still have so much to do and a super busy Tuesday. So unlike my personality and character, but I’ve barely started packing. Usually there’s lists, upon lists, upon lists, but thus far there have been a measly dos. You heard me, two! I’m not sure how it’s all gonna get done! Ugh…tomorrow’s post: trials and tribulations of last minute packing.

I think, er No, I mean, er Yes,

but it’s all wrong. That is I think I disagree.
The Beatles (mis amores), Strawberry Fields Forever

So in anticipation of the cost of our California trip this summer we’ve done some fundraising at school. This week’s money maker-sell Italian ice in the parking lot after school. So four of us (me, mike, liz, and stephanos) throw up some signs, get the tent set up outside, and bam RAIN!

Yeah, the tent is so not waterproof. So we stand there for the fifteen minutes waiting for school to end getting soaked, I mean soaked in the process (neither liz nor i had make-up on and my hair looked like i had just stepped out of the shower). and as students start shuffling out our cordinator of student activities walks over. Now, he’s a sweetie and works really closely with us for yearbook, but he is a bearer of bad news usually. This is how the conversation went:

is this the Italian ice?

yes.

who approved this?

um, (insert our teacher’s name), said she got it approved.

it’s not on my calendar. you’re going to need to pack this up. have her e-mail me again and we’ll get this worked out.

(we stand around looking at him like, are you serious? we’re soaked, this has been on the announcements for a week, and there are signs everywhere and you’re NOW telling us?!?!)

So we did and he was super nice about it, but I was pissed beyond belief…don’t you just love administration? I would have just liked a little bit more of a heads-up, like 15 minutes earlier maybe.

But I Ain’t Missin’ You At All

Since you’ve been gone away
I ain't missing you,
no matter what my friends say.

Tyler Hilton, Missing You

So while I love Mr. Hilton’s hair, covers, and songs I have been MISSING YOU!! and I can’t wait to start blogging like a fool once more.

Where have I been?!?!? It’s called that last weeks of school (10 and a half days left….woooo!) I swear once every thing calms down I’ll have plenty of time to devote to blogging and we’ve got lots of exciting plans for this summer that includes: CALIFRONIA!, Disneyland, Hollywood, did I mention California?, license, WMC, and concerts-SO EXCITING!

What have I been up to? Homework, homework, FBLA inductions (you’re listening to the words of the new President!) and more homework.

Last weekend Aubrie and Brooklyn came over for the infamous camp out that we’ve been talking about for months and months and months and let’s just say we’re definitely doing it again!

three And there was of course Memorial Day where I got to see the cutest little boy…ELI!
