Here Comes the Sun

do da do doo. Here comes the sun and I said it’s alright.

Friday's post...reposted.

The sun has been out all day!! There are a few clouds out there right now and thunderstorms are in the forecast, but for once I remembered what it was like to not be soked every time I walked out the door! (And I loved it.)

I took the first of my AP tests today—US History. It consisted of: 80 multiple choice questions in 55 minutes (scored like SATs), 1 reading period of 15 minutes, 1 DBQ (document-based question) for an advised 45 minutes, and 2 essays in an advised 35 minutes each. Although I got done my essays early, the multiple choice were definitely easier for me. No test, after taking an SAT, can compare on length or the level of difficulty. Ever. Maybe Physics but I don’t think you can really compare SATs and Physics.

We left school afterwards…no Spanish or English for me :) But anyway, afterwards Aubrie and I went with Mike to Rita’s while we waited for Brooklyn. Between our two days there this week, we have 2 of the 3 pieces that will make us 25, 000 dollar winners…though that’s unlikely. Then I introduced Brooklyn and Aubrie to Chinatown where we laughed at the Moms’ Group and the owner who tripped on the stair (we think one of the mom’s is his “girlfriend”—he brought her donuts). And then we can home while waving at strange people and following a drunk driver.

The world really doesn’t stop while we are in school. There were tons of people on 81 and at Martin’s, people in their yards, and moms having lunch together—it was craaazy!

This weekend is Mother’s Day and I’m excited to celebrate with my families on Saturday and Sunday.

Please be in thought/pray for moms, moms-to-be, women without moms here, and women struggling to become mothers.

Picture update soon :)

An Extension of the Rant

So it seems fitting that the day after I rant about the future SAT scores come. Now I planned this SAT, as stated in previous posts, as a "feeler" test--good thing being since Memaw died the day before..timing, I know. Came back pretty much as I expected...I killed CR, did miserable on math, and did satisfactory on Writing. I'm taking another one in June so I have to be studying!!!

Other then that the day was good...baby-sitting calls poured in all afternoon. I guess parents' want their Spring Breaks, too. It's fine with me as long as they're ones I enjoy babysitting and of course, extra money never hurt anyone- especially this time of year.

Death Keeps No Calendar

I won't be editing yesterday's post; I'll start today with yesterday's quote because it's more fitting.

I just can't get over the fact that one minute I'm here, and the next I am not.

It doesn't matter who said it (a terminally ill man on Scrubs) just the concept of it. Memaw died tonight. Sure we knew it was coming, but for someone who at 17, has had no one close to her die it's a big deal. It didn't hit me until about 10 minutes after B told me. Then the waterworks started and it's been on and off ever since.

Mom had gone up there tonight (bless you for leaving me at home) when it happened. She said it was beautiful and peaceful-what everyone hopes for. Sure it's not the greatest timing, but isn't that life? Taking my "feeler" SAT tomorrow is going be crappy, though.................oi.

edit: FBLA went great. First in AEP, second in GB, and I'm now an installed regional secretary for next school year!

I'm Horrible!

I just realized I didn't blog yesterday!!!!
Darn me, darn me to heck.

It's finally Thursday! Tomorrow is FBLA regionals (officer inductions!!) and Saturday is the dreaded SATs. Yikes. Nothing has slowed down.

Time seems to speed up as I get older. It's freaky to think that in less then a year I will probably know where I'm going to college and hopefully what I definitely want to do with my life...cause I have NO idea right now.

Watching Grey's, but should probably be studying for the SATs.

I'll write more this weekend.

Can't find the Scrubs quote I want to put here; will edit; laptop gonna die.
