The Key to . . . Falling for Etsy

Whilst recovering from my double ear infection (who knew teenagers still got those??), I fell under a “crafty spell.” It is not uncommon for me to fall under these “spells”—am the girl whose favorite store—besides Borders—is Michael’s. So anyway, back to my most recent “spell.”

I was searching the Internet for a way to organize my pens and pencils. But, as fate goes, I found these adorable magnetic bookmarks that I just had to try! Mine aren’t quite as perfected as Craft Chi’s but I’ll let you know how they turn out.

It was at Craft Chi that I also found the inspiration for the dividers of my pen/pencil holders. Who would have guessed CD cases do the trick? And with some paper, ribbon, and rub on letters…adorable!!!

Here’s how they turned out! I just put an old jewel CD case into clear, paint cans I bought months ago from…you guessed it…Michael’s. You can easily separate pens from pencils and in my craft can, colored pencils and scissors and glue!

And I couldn’t just stop with my creativity alone…late to the game I started to explore Etsy. I’d heard bloggers like Kelly and Polka Dots talk about the website, but I never ventured over. Holy cow! It’s the holy grail of crafters’ website. There are headbands. And party invitations. Jewelry. Clothing. And personalized key chains---which is what I was looking for. I found the perfect one from lilhannahbear:image

(Mine is coming with an “H”, instead of a “K”.)

I have a feeling Etsy could be a little dangerous for people like me!! You should really check it out…I’m sure there’s something you’ll fall in love with.
