Before I became a blogger, I was a blog reader. I’m not going to lie; I didn’t just read anything. The blogs had to keep my interest, meaning that the topic of these blogs had to be something I either liked or was interested in reading about daily.
MckMama was one of the first bloggers whose blogs I added to my favorites. I read her every day. From her great Photoshop ideas, to her search for her place in God’s kingdom, and her witty parenting stories, she’s a hoot—even for someone who isn’t even an adult yet! There’s just something honest and raw and real about Jennifer.
When I click on her link each evening, I know I’m going to smile or laugh or maybe, just maybe cry. This morning as I was catching up on my blog-reading (You know I’m sick when I don’t check daily!) I came upon this golden nugget of wisdom: bold blogging. (Click that..those grey words…now…please…the rest of my post won’t make sense…really, go read it even if you skim!)
It struck a cord with me. How often while your reading do you come across blogs that are of constant happiness and sunshine? Does it make you think—is their life seriously like that? Cause if it is, I want to meet her, rub her head, and make a wish! Or are they just showing us only the good to make us think (FILL IN THE BLANK HERE)? Maybe it’s those bloggers intentions to only share the best of their lives---which is fine! But I have realized that I prefer the real and the raw…the au natural!
And when it comes to my blog I try to share all aspects of my life! I’m not perfect and I don’t claim to be…my life is far from it. And if my blog has portrayed that “picture”, I’m disappointed. So, this year, I vow to work on that. I vow to become a bold blogger. And share the bad days…and the good, of course :)
