Do You Believe in Magic?

It’s been so long!

October is gone and November is here—with leaves and scarves and snow.

These past two weeks have been. so. busy. And that is probably the understatement of the century. Between classes and homework and clubs, I don’t usually stop moving from the time I wake up at 7 until usually 9 or 10 at night…except for when I manage to squeeze a nap in somewhere. I have seemed to perfect the art of maneuvering cat naps into a packed schedule this semester—a 20 minute rest gives me more energy than an iced coffee ever could!

But even though it’s been a chaotic two weeks, it’s been an awesome two weeks. I’m sensing a theme for this year…magic, we’ve dubbed it. On top of all the craziness, the past two weeks have brought about a lot of change here, too.

So let’s recap, shall we?

Costume parties and Halloween!

We ended up going to 2 (of the 3) Halloween costume parties that we were invited to. At the first one we were: a football wife, Mad Hatter, hippie, football player, and Indian.

This costume party was so much fun—it was also a black light/highlighter party, too and so cool! You probably can’t tell from these pictures, but it was epic!

At the second one we went to, we were: two AC’s on our campus, a Mad Hatter, and more. I got to have two temporary tattoos for the night! A freak snowstorm also started during our costume contest. It was so weird having snow on the ground in October, but it was still wonderful and magical! :) I love my snow!

Last week was also Relay’s fall kick-off on campus—Paint the Campus Purple week! But because I love Relay oh so much, it’s going to be getting it’s own post soon!

Some other news:

  • My baby sister got into her first choice—West Virginia University! I am so, so, so proud of her—again a HUGE understatement of my excitement. She’s carrying on the family tradition and I know that she is going to succeed in every thing she sets her mind to there. She actually called me while I was in the library last night to tell me—yes, I am still living there with my friends and some few other lovelies—and I had to do my happy and excited dance while suppressing my happy scream so the people doing their homework didn’t hate me before I could leave and fully share in my excitement with her. It was so funny!

  • Also,  one of our friends has made the decision to leave BC and transfer elsewhere. We are all very sad that she’s leaving us at the end of the semester, but we know that she is making the right decision. If you could all pray for her and that she finds some guidance in life over the next few months, I would really appreciate it. Some guidance for us all would be great, really. It’s going to be a major blow to our routine here and we’re all going to need help adapting to such a big change.

  • M had a birthday this week. A video of the day will be shared very soon!

  • My friend’s niece was born last night and it’s crazy how excited we can all get over an event that isn’t even occurring in our lives—but rather a friend’s! The magic of friendship…

Life has been so crazy and hectic around here, but all-in-all in every day, I can find those moments of greatness. I have people around me who love me and my issues that I’ve been working on all semester are coming along marvelously with great guidance from God. The power of prayer!

There’s something in the air—I can really feel it coming. Something wonderful is about to happen and I cannot wait to see what it going to unfold over the rest of the semester and the rest of the year :)

And I know that sounds crazy, but I just feel it somewhere, deep in my stomach. A flicker of hope and…magic.
