If I had the chance to meet any actress in Hollywood, Reese Witherspoon would win hands-down every single time. I was a tender young sprout when my momma first introduced me to one of her very first films—The Man in the Moon. And from then on I’ve always admired her character, spunk, and accent. I do not even want to admit the number of times I have seen Sweet Home Alabama (also because I L-O-V-E Patrick Dempsey!) and Walk the Line. They’re always my picks on movie nights! :)
And her little acceptance speech (for the Generation Award) at last Sunday’s 2011 MTV Movie Awards just made me admire her even more!!
First, a little montage of her movies over the years—if you haven’t seen them all, you should definitely add their viewings to your summer Bucket List!
And now—her awesome, inspiring speech! (If you can you should check out what Rob, Patrick and Chelsea said about her when they presented the award—so funny!) Because there is nothing wrong with being the good girl…
“I just want to say to all the girls out there I know it’s cool to be bad. I get it, it’s cool to be bad. But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed. And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, hide your face people! Hide your face! So for all the girls out there, it’s possible to be a good girl, and I’m going to try and make it cool.”
See—I just know Reese and I would be best friends!! :)
What actress do you think you could be best friends with?
