Music, Music, Music

I’ve been spending this last weekend before Spring Break wraps up at home with the family, trying to be all quiet and peaceful-life.

Oh, who am I trying to kid?

The little sister and I made our Friday night quite eventful, quite spontaneously. Thank you, wonderful party-goers, for your awesome inspiration. Perhaps one day we will return to this night and I’ll share what I’ve noticed about intoxicated folks—this would definitely be a doozy of a post.

Our Saturday was a bit less eventful; a few outings here and there in the afternoon. I spent the majority of the morning packing my stuff back up for my return to college and chatting with a party-goer about their night.

A key part of the packing effort is the music. It begins with adding new music to my library and crafting a playlist for the trip back. Kind of like rotating toys for young children, it is crucial to rotate music.

Songs get old and repetitive so we must put them back on the shelf, pulling out a new one. This way, the next time that we listen to the first song we shelved, we can relive it’s wonderfulness as if it’s the first time we’ve listened to its magical melody before.

Because I do my homework to the croons of various artists, it also acts as a bit of a homework motivator when I have new music to listen to. Who wouldn’t want to read an article about sociological stratification when they have Avril Lavigne’s new CD to listen to?! Or Adele. Or We the Kings. Or whoever you love.

So as I’m piecing together my newest mix, I figured that I would share some of my current favorites with you and ask you to do the same with me!

Here are two of the songs I’ve had on repeat as of late. What two (or more) songs have you been obsessed with lately?? Leave them in the comments so I can be obsessed with you :)
