I Made It!

Here’s a super quick post to say hi from college!

Well, folks, I made it to college.

But I must admit, the first night was a little rough.

I moved in early to attend a multicultural leadership program. A welcome day for new students attending the collage, with interests in leadership. Ice breakers. Seminars. The usual spiel.

The early part is what got me. There was no one else in my dorm. No one. A few girls on the first floor and that’s about it. And I was struck with a bad case of homesickness.

But have no fear. My luck has quickly turned around!

Everyone else moved in today and orientation officially began.

It was a bit rough saying goodbye to the parentals beforehand, but I’ve met a lot of wonderful people…including my fantastic roommate!

They keep us extremely busy here in our orientation groups during the first four days or so, so there really isn’t too much free time quite yet.

At nine tonight we had a showing of Ironman 2 and t-shirt making outside. My roomie and I were in line for an hour waiting to have shirts made and met two really great girls…who are coincidentally also on my floor!

The friendliness is what drew me to pick Bridgewater, and it has definitely paid off! I feel so welcome and can’t wait to see what’s in store over the next four years.

Next post: the dorm room!
